Come Take A Walk With Us...

An Early Start to the Day.

I woke up this morning at 2 am to the sound of very strong and loud wind. This time of year I am always aware and nervous of the weather and wind. So, I got up to check and make sure there were no tornado warnings. We are just under a severe weather alert for strong and high damaging winds. It was so loud on the side of the house by our bedroom window because the gate got damaged during the storms last week and now it isn't attached very well. I ended up moving into the office/guest bedroom where it is much less noisy. I kept waking up every hour or so after that for some reason. I was trying not to let myself oversleep and forget to get Kylee up at 6:45 to get ready for cheer practice. I don't know why they have to practice so early on Saturday. She didn't even get to eat before she left. I had to send apples and string cheese with her in the car. The battle on early mornings with Kylee is her hair. She will scream at me no matter how soft I try to brush it. Then I get upset and tell her to do it herself. I don't understand how someones head can be that tender. It is to the point of ridiculous. I just need to tell her to tough it out.

I Almost Forgot.

I almost forgot! I got all my tests back from the doctor and I have a clean bill of health. All came back with no signs of anything. Wohoo!

A New Day.

Hopefully today will go smoother than yesterday. I don't need anymore injuries around here. Carson looks like Rudolph. Kylee is calling him Rudy now...he likes it. Conner got his math masters subtraction so he will be getting his Subtraction Action button at Antler Alert today. He is so excited.

I have been slated to be the Vice President of PTO for the new school next year. I hope this is an easy job because I have no idea how to do it or what it involves. With Carson in school all day next year I should have much more time though.

Less than a month before we go to California/ Disney Land. I don't know if I am excited or just ready for it to be over to be honest. Going to Disney in Orlando is definitely not relaxing or a vacation really. It is more like running a week long marathon with one goal in mind...be the first in line at every ride...I think it is called Disney or Die! Kids are up gotta go!

Another Day In The Life ....

Today started like normal with Carson waking up around 6:30. I got him a drink and made some coffee. Conner woke up and was in a bad mood because he can't watch TV or do electronics until Friday So he had "nothing to do!" Then LeeJay got up to get ready for Donuts with Dad at school with Kylee. After I got Conner on the bus I told Carson we were going to Bouncin' Craze with Braeden from school. He got all ready and the Trish called to tell me that the baby was sick and they would not be able to go to the bounce place. I broke the news to Carson and told him we could walk to the green playground here in our neighborhood. Little did I know how cold it was outside this morning. We were about 1/2 way there when he decided to walk on the curb to "bawance" (balance) as best as he could. We were walking along when all of sudden Carson wasn't next to me anymore. He fell straight down on his face...Nose planted into the concrete. I ran to him just in time to see the blood on the curb. I was in total shock and he was starting to scream horrifically! I just knew his nose was broken! I picked him up and started running as fast I could to the house when I thought to grab my phone and call LJ. All I could say was " I need help!" He asked where I was and I said " Run to the End of our street." " I think Carson's nose is broken." Luckily I was wrong. LeeJay grabbed him up and came home to check it and it is just really scratched up on the outside and bloody on the inside. It is really swollen too. What a crazy day. Poor Carson!

Crazy Weather all the time.

I have decided that Oklahoma has the craziest weather in the world. It is cold again. It is only 30 degrees this morning and the high is 48. What happened to our nice weather? Maybe it was just a preview for spring. Just like our early tornado.

My kids are on the verge of getting sick again. This time with strep. Kylee and Conner have been exposed to it in class by more than one kid. So, I am just watching them this weekend. They both say their throats are sore and tummy aches. Fun Fun....at least 24 hours of antibiotic is all it takes to be on the road to health again for strep.

Today is Conner's last basketball game. I am kinda sad. It seems like just when the team is starting to get it all figured out and has learned how to work together and pass to each other...the season ends. Now, we can focus just on baseball though. Which is good because he needs to catch up to the level the other boys are playing at. He hasn't played since he was 5. These boys have been together for 3 years now.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Another plane crash.

I just woke up and the first thing I see on yahoo is that another plane has crashed in the usa. I don't know what to say. I am so sorry for those people and their families. There was in fact a woman on there whose husband died in the 9/11 attacks. She was actually flying to Buffalo to celebrate what would have been his 58th birthday. This is the 2nd Continental flight to have an issue this year. Remember the one that skidded off the runway in Denver at Christmas time? We are supposed to fly on Continental to California next month. I don't now how much you all know about my fear of flying and driving on the freeway in traffic. I am trying not to be consumed by this fear but it is nearly impossible. I was already wanting to cancel our trip after the plane landed in the Hudson last month..and they all survived.

Wicked Weather.

We had the most bizarre and wicked weather yesterday afternoon. It started as a beautiful sunny day temp around 70. I put Carson down for a nap around 1 and shortly after the tornado sirens were going off. I jumped up and looked out the window and it looked like night time coming our way. I immediately turned on the TV to see what was going on and found out that circulation was forming near Yukon. So, I called LeeJay and told him. They were on a conference call and announced it to everyone so they could prepare or get ready for it. Lee Jay headed home quickly but didn't make it before the hail started pounding down on his "baby"...aka the jag. He had been home for maybe 5 minutes when the news said the power poles had been knocked down and people were stuck in there cars between 150th and Penn. He was just there! Then the hail started pounding down. It looked like a waterfall of ice balls falling off the roof onto our front porch. Then the sirens again...then the news crews in helicopters were showing a tornado on the ground at Coffee Creek and Kelley. That is less than 3 miles from our house. We were just watching the news footage of these houses being ripped apart and trees and dirt going everywhere and knowing that it was right down the road from us. LeeJay went outside to see it and he could see the actual tornado in the air! Kylee and Conner were still at school and Carson slept through the whole thing! Crazy afternoon! Guess what I am doing today? I am calling Ground Zero to come out and give us an estimate to have a shelter put into the garage! No Joke!

So Good To Have Cousins.

My kids don't have any cousins. Well, they have 1/2 cousins but we have only seen them a handful of times and I suppose that is how it will always be because they live with their mother and not LeeJay's 1/2 brother...confusing I know. So, we consider a few 2nd cousins our children's "cousins". We have Clint and Kate and Cole and Bodie. Every time we get to see them the kids are just so excited and thrilled to have someone to play with that is "related". Kylee kept walking around for past couple of days telling anyone who would listen..."My cousins are coming!" She is 9 and is so thrilled about this. As soon as they got here it is like they all picked up where they left off the last time we saw them. They have an absolute blast with each other and genuinely love each other and the time they get to share together. There is nothing like that family connection feeling. I remember it so well and fondly from my own childhood. I loved and looked so forward to holidays and summers where we went to Grandmother and Granddaddy's and ALL the cousins were there. It was just the best feeling. I can't really explain it better than that...if you have felt and remember it then you will understand. Anyway I am so glad we have moved back home so my children finally get to experience family and make some lasting memories.

Busy Day...As If They Aren't All Busy

I have got to get laundry finished and put back in the drawers that I have not been able to touch for 2 days. We had them reassembled and the glue needed 48 hours to adhere.
I have got to get my house clean. We are going to have 2 different sets of company this weekend. I also need to buy some groceries. Today is Carson's short day at school too. So, I need to get it done before he gets home.

Thank goodness they have called off baseball practice for Saturday. That is one less event we will have to do.

I am looking at Vegas packages. Steph and Lee are going at the end of April and I think we might also go. It is always so much more fun when you go with friends to Vegas. Then we both have someone to hang out with the whole time. I am still trying to talk LeeJay out of going to Italy this next fall. I just don't think now is a good time. I think the kids are too little for us to leave them and go off to Europe. We did it to Kylee when she was 6 mos. old and I had a miserable time the whole 12 days. I want us to wait until they are old enough to go with us and get an educational experience out of it. Call me crazy! I want to talk him into an all inclusive trip to somewhere tropical. I would even go on another cruise. They are so relaxing and care free. Boys are up now...gotta go.

Good nights sleep.

I feel like I got a really good nights sleep last night. Everyone stayed in there own beds and are still asleep as we speak. I put Carson to bed without a pullup...fingers crossed. We shall see the outcome of that here soon. Since his surgery we have not tried to have him go to bed without one on. The doctor told me he is right where he needs to be.

I hope everyone has a great day today.

Time to Catch Up.

Being sick last week made a bomb go off in my house. There is stuff everywhere. I have got to get caught up. Today is a laundry and cleaning day for sure.

Boomer went to the vet yesterday and he has bad allergies. They have given me pills to give him and also antibiotic ear drops and ear cleaner. He is more high maintenance than the kids! Poor thing. He has been miserable for about a week with scratching etc.. Maybe he won't be so nervous and irritable now.

We got registered for our Best Buy trip to Disneyland. We are going to the lands for 3 days and then to the San Diego Zoo one day and maybe the beach if the weather is nice enough. All in all we will be gone for 8 days in March. Fun Fun!

Went To Barnes and Noble

We went to Barnes and Noble after church and lunch today. I was looking for the Twilight book and couldn't find it. I assume the title is Twilight and I looked in the hot titles section...it wasn't there and it was too crowded to ask for help...so I got The Last Templar instead. It just ran as a mini series on NBC. I didn't get to watch it all but what I did see looked good. It is a little like The DaVincci Code. Anyway if anyone wants to loan me there copy of Twilight when they are done reading it let me know. I am feeling better today so, maybe I am finally on the mend and don't need to go to the doctor after all. Good thing because I have GOT to take Boomer to the vet tomorrow. He has been chewing and licking on his leg for a week now. LeeJay saw 3 raw spots and said they are going to get infected if we don't get antibiotics for him. I swear !!! If it isn't one of the kids going to the doctor it is one of the pets.

What Am I Going To Do Now?

Hmmm.....well, I am not looking at houses anymore or cars. So, what am I going to do in the morning and evenings now during my alone time? I guess I need to start reading again. So many people I know have started reading the Twilight series and LOVE it. I just wasn't that interested because I thought it was geared toward teens. Plus it is about vampires. Doesn't sound like my thing. Stephenie insists that I start reading it and that I will love it. What do you think? Even Shannon, my sister, is reading it. She said it is great as well.

I am ready for spring cleaning. I want to organize every room and closet and make sure that we are using the space we do have to its full potential. I would like to get some cabinets and shelves for the garage so we can store extra household products and our pool supplies need to be in a locked cabinet outside for safety. I am so ready to get the flower beds cleaned up and the windows are all so dirty on the outside. Clean clean clean...that is what I can do with all my time! Oh I am getting chills just thinking about organizing...good chills.
