I am Sick of Being Sick!

I am still sick. I am not sure if it is still or again actually...but I know I have been sick most of January. I really think I have bronchitis at this point. If I am not better by Monday I am gonna force myself to go to the doctor. I would hate to let it go and it be much much worse.

I am DONE looking for a new house or land or whatever! I am going to be happy where we are and just focus on that for the next year. I am making myself crazy trying to figure out what we are doing. So, we are just gonna go to the new school next year and decide in a year or so what we want to do.

Conner did so good at his basketball game today. He made three baskets and played great defense. He was in the zone too. It was like watching a different kid out there. We were so proud! He starts baseball practice next week. Games don't start until March. I am glad because we still aren't done with basketball. Carson wants to play Tball this season so bad. I am still trying to decide if I can handle all 3 in an activity or not.

Awake way too early.

Boomer woke me up needing to go outside at 4:30 this morning and for whatever reason I never could go back to sleep. So, here I am at 6 am drinking coffee and blogging.I keep hearing cars go crunching by on the ice outside. I guess everyone has decided to go back to work today after being out for the past 2 days. We still don't have school today though. They will for sure go back tomorrow (Friday) which means they went to school 1 and 1/2 days this week. I wonder when they will have to make it up.
I think my mind just won't relax. I am just swirling with thoughts and ideas. I wish I could just stop and be happy and content with what we have. I hate that about myself. I am constantly thinking we need a bigger house or a newer car. I just need to realize how blessed we are to have been able to move back closer to family and that we are in a great school district for our kids and that we are making some fabulous friends and have joined a great church. We have each other and that is all that matters. The rest is just fluff, icing or extra sugar. I know all of this deep down, I do. I just have to take 2 steps backwards sometimes to remember.
I got some cute pictures of the kids yesterday in the snow.

Snow Day 3

We just got the call that there will be no school tomorrow either. This will be the third day. The kids are excited but somewhat bored at this point. They did get to play in the snow a little today. Kylee is at practice tonight which she so badly needed to burn of energy. Stay safe everyone.

Snow Day 2

Yesterday we got ice and then sleet and then snow all day long....oh ya and no school. So, of course there is no school today either. It is 8 degrees outside right now! I promised that the kids could play in it so it better warm up a little. I will post pictures later. We are lucky and still have power. Tahlequah was without power all day yesterday and may still be. I am SO glad we have power since school is out. I don't know what people did in the winter before power came along. Hibernate? Have a good day.

Added Some Songs For The Boys

Being a Mom of 3 I do tend to listen to what they want to listen to...like Radio Disney...and I must say the music is quite catching. Anyway, I added some of the boys favorite songs to my playlist from three disney movies. Enjoy.

A Day in The Life Of Carrie...

I woke up at 6 via the alarm and hit snooze. This is so unlike me. I normally wake up a few minutes to an hour before my alarm in anticipation of the dreadful sound and try to catch it so I don't have to hear it longer than a milisecond. Oh trust me, I know, I am weird. Many people don't understand but, there are few "special" people out there that do the same thing...I am sure of it. Okay, back on track here.... I woke up slowly and got some coffee going. The plan was to get a shower before Carson got up and then get the kids ready and go to antler alert for Kylee to receive her first mini master button for reading 5 classic novels...then rush to take Carson to school and then go grocery shopping and then go pick Carson back up at 12. Well, nothing ever works that simply. Conner decides to tell me he is way too sick for school today...again. He missed yesterday. So, I tell him he has to go back to bed and is going to stay in bed ALL day to rest so he won't be sick this weekend. I went to tell LeeJay one of us has to stay home with him while the other goes to see Kylee. He says he will stay. I am now rushing around to get ready. I hear Conner in the bathroom. He decided to get ready for school after all...just so he wouldn't have to stay in bed all day. We all head off to Antler Alert which took even longer because Kylee also got recognized by the principal for making straight A's this term. So, needless to say I wasn't out in time to get carson to school. So, I decided to keep him with me and go to the store. We are picking out produce and LeeJay called to say his battery is dead on his car. We leave are buggy and come home. By the time we get here I realize I have forgotten to pack Conner his lunch and we need to take him something. Carson and i go eat with Conner and then come home and take a NAP. After awakening ( Carson slept for another hour or so) I clean out the minivan and pack a bag for Kylee's cheer practice and pack snacks for Kylee, Madison, Alley Conner and Carson. It is my turn to drive the girls to practice. They have to be there at 4 and school gets out at 3:45. I am the 4th car in line at carpool, just to make sure we get out of the parking lot quick...too bad I got behind a school bus dropping off kids on the way to the gym. We were about 10 minutes late. I decide to go to the store, Finally made it back. I of course have Carson and Conner in tow who ask for every stinkin' piece of junk food on every isle. You know the Mom that looks completely frazzled and out of her mind in the check out line...well, that was so me today at 4:30. Then we head back to pick the girls up at 5:15...when I talk to My dear wonderful husband. He is on his way home.I ask him to please go pick the girls up and take them home because I now have the daunting task of unloading and putting up groceries and then fixing dinner. Now, I am relaxing on the computer while the kids play Wii. That is a typical day in the life of Carrie..crazy I know. Now I know why most women Want to go back to work...it isn't as hectic.

We Are All Sick.

Kylee stayed home sick yesterday with a sore throat and tummy ache and headache. By last night Conner had all the symptoms as did LeeJay. Carson and I both have BAD headaches this morning. Fun Fun.

On or Offf.

Carson has an on or off switch with out volume control! There is no "lets be quiet until everyone else wakes up" negotiation room when dealing with him. When he is awake it is time to move and shake and " Let's Get This Party Started"! Oh my gosh, he wears me out. Sometimes I feel like I am too old to have a 4 year old. I am only half way joking when I say had he been born first he would be an only child. I just wish he could sleep passed 6:15. I even set my alarm for 6 so I can get up and have a chance to wake up and clear the cob webs from my head before he is up and off like a rocket. Let the Day begin!

This Saturday..,Kylee's Competition & Conner's Game

The Cool Mom Award Goes To...Carrie Osburn

Yesterday was Kylee's 2nd cheer competition and Ok Gold Heat all stars got 3rd place. They each received a bronze medal. They did so good and had a great time. It was an all day thing downtown. We got to walk a little in bricktown and we ate at Spaghetti Warehouse for lunch. The kids had a so much fun. Most importantly,(just kidding) I was awarded The Cool Mom award ( a tshirt that says "cool mom") in front of the whole stadium! Each coach had to nominate a few moms and then they drew a name from an envelope. I also get a chance to win a cruise for 2. It was so funny the way it played out. Neely ( Kylee's coach) came up to me with a slip of paper and told me to fill it out. She gave one to the moms standing next to me as well. So, I thought we were all having to fill this paper out and I yelled at Neely to give one to Ally's mom because she forgot her. She said " Oh, I didn't give one to everyone...just a few of you." Then I looked at it and it said -cool mom nomination-. So then I said " Oh, you want me to pick someone to nominate?" Neely laughed and said "No, I am nominating YOU, just fill it out with your information." So, later I told LeeJay about it and Conner happened to be sitting there listening. He wanted to know what nominate meant etc...so it turned into this learning conversation. Hours later we had the award ceremony. As they were getting to the Cool Mom and Cool Dad awards Conner turns to me and says" You are going up there aren't you?" I said no I didn't win. He began to disagree and continued to say I was "chosen". I was in the middle of telling him I was just nominated for the Chance to win when the announcer said " And the "Cool Mom award goes to....Carrie Osburn." Connner and I stopped talking and looked over at the center arena....I jumped up and screamed "Wohoooooooo"...no major reaction or anything.LOL! Conner 's reaction was "See, I told you!" Typical 7 year old response! Anyway, So , now I have an awesome tshirt that you better believe I am gonna be sportin' around town while running my mom errands.

Let it Snow Let it Snow!

IT'S SNOWING!!! The kids are so excited! They were out playing in it for 30 minutes before the bus came. It snowed through the morning but not very much and was all but gone by the afternoon. It was so cold today...right now it is 16 degrees.

On to another topic...the plane crash today. That is so so scary to me and to anyone I can imagine. I am already a nervous flyer and traveler. It makes me want to scratch future travel plans all together. It is so hard for me to make myself travel and I know I shouldn't let fear rule over me but I have a very hard time telling myself that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We are supposed to go to California over spring break. I don't want to go at all now! LJ desperately wants to go to Italy next fall and I really really don't want to. Am I crazy? What a miracle though that everyone is okay. Even the baby! An amazing miracle that each and every one of them is so blessed.

Another busy day at the Osburn's.

Well, I set my alarm for 6 so I could get in some quick alone time with a coffee this morning. Carson seems to be getting up earlier and earlier these days. I wonder if that is a BIG sign that maybe he should be giving up his nap. I hope not. I want to milk it for a little longer. He already only naps on the days he doesn't have school. Speaking of school...they announced that we will have full day Kindergarten in our district next school year. LeeJay and I talked about it and decided to go ahead and send Carson next year. More than likely we will just have him do it twice. Wow. For the first time in nearly 10 years I will have no children at home with me. Excuse me. I need a moment to take this all in........ WooHoo!!!!!Now, don't get me wrong....I LOVE my children but I really think I will appreciate them and enjoy our time more in the afternoons next school year... I am a little freaked out at the concept of Carson...little Carson, not being here and walking around a big school building though. He better grow a lot over the next 6 months.
Today I have to take Kylee to the doctor because she got kicked in her stitches at practice on Monday and a knot popped out. That poor girl. I hope they can just snip off the knot and be done. Then, I am taking lunch to her teacher for her birthday. Then, laundry laundry is the name of the game today. I am way behind on that! Have a good one everybody!

Is Winter EVER Coming?

As much as I hate to say it and will probably jenks us all, I kinda wish it would snow already. The kids want to play in it so bad! I know this is a silly reason to want it to snow...but, I want to get some great outdoor winter shots of my kids for this awesome photo wall frame I got. You know how you have a project or image pictured perfectly in your mind. Well, I am just waiting for the perfect set up to create mine.
We have a basketball game today at 12 and then Kylee has practice this afternoon. That will be 4 cheer practices this week. She is so loving it though. They have another competition next weekend. I hope they place this time. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Cold weather is finally arriving.

We are supposed to be getting a cold front today and tomorrow. The kids have been making me crazy asking when it is going to snow. I am surprised at how mild the winter has been so far. (I guess I should be careful what I say!) It was 70 degrees yesterday and we were outside...in January!
We went to the science museum yesterday and saw all the new exhibits. They have a new pirate exhibit and a science live show. The kids had so much fun. I forgot my camera! I keep telling LJ I need to keep a small camera in my purse at all times.Have I done it yet? NO!
School starts back in 3 days. This vacation went by so fast. I have enjoyed having the kids home. They just played and played and really NEVER wanted to leave the house. Hope everyone has a great day.

I chopped My Hair Off!

It was totally not my intention or planned in any way but last night I came home with much MUCH less hair than I left with at 4. I really only planned on getting my highlights done and getting my layers reshaped and an inch cut off. Brandi, the amazing hairstylist, talked me into trying something different b/c I told her I wasn't afraid. Well, I got a little afraid after she started chopping. Mainly b/c I know LeeJay doesn't care for this particular style. Well, I have always wanted to try it and decided to give it a go. It does look fabulous. I am just going to have to get used to it and My neck is COLD. I may have to start wearing scarves. Darn I gave my cheetah print one to Mema! I will post a picture later after I get LJ to take one. TTFN

Good Morning and Happy New Year!

Welcome 2009!
Well, I don't know about you all but I TRIED to stay up until midnight to see the ball drop but, unfortunately, Carson was woken up by people shooting off fireworks at 11:30 and I had to lay down with him so he would go back to sleep. Seeing as how I had had some champagne I fell asleep as well.

Okay, you may question my music choices on my playlist, so let me explain. I chose Shake It and Get Silly because Kylee's cheer routine uses part of both of these songs and they are quite catchy. The others are just some old favorites and I thought they were fun.

I am getting my hair done today at 4 by a new girl that Shannon H. uses...lets hope it goes well. Have a good fist day of 2009.
